Even if Camperworld is now owned by Campabout Oz, it remains to be a family-owned and operated campervan hire business in Perth, WA, offering a high level of personalised service. Choose from one of campervans or 4WDs and hit the road without breaking the bank.
About Camperworld
Acquired by Campabout Oz in 2012, Camperworld still exists to be a family-owned business with a nice range of vehicles for hire. Before being part of Campabout Oz, they have been in the industry for more than two decades, hence allowing them to create a wide network with travel agents across the country and over the world. And as a major service provider for Western Australian Tourism Commission, this gives them an edge among smaller campervan rental companies. They even give you a free one-night holiday voucher. Don't forget to take note that they have moved to a new location, which is just 25 minutes away from the airport.
Fleet
Even with the acquisition by Campabout Oz, they offer distinct campervans and 4WDs for travellers of different sizes and budgets. However, do take note that, most units on offer are older models that can range from 2007 to 2010. Since these are old units, you really can't expect a tip-top condition with no visible wear and tear features. Still, they can give you a good run for your money.
Vehicles
Campervans
Family Cruiser
A custom-built camper for 5, the Family Cruiser is perfect for up to 4 people only, with its two double beds. This isn't a bunkhouse model so all beds are of the same level. Since the sleeping area already occupies most of the interior, this one provides an outdoor kitchenette. A 3-metre awning is also part of the camper so you can dine outside. Children over 7 years old are allowed to travel in the front seat.
Platinum Luxury HiAce
Next on the list is the 2 berth camper, which is quite upgraded from most standard campers for two. It's because it comes with some unique features such as a portable toilet and shower, a spacious bed, and an interior kitchen. This means you have everything you need inside your camper. Also, this unit is a breeze to drive and leaves more than enough room for two people. So, if you need some luxury comforts during your trip, you might want to give this a try.
HiTop LWB Camper
This long-wheelbase campervan that seats 5 but sleeps 4. With the pop-top roof, the interior of the unit is roomier. This one is like a combination of the two previously-mentioned campervans. It has a convertible double bed like the Family Cruiser and interior kitchen like the Platinum Luxury HiAce. But what makes this unit unique is the top bunk bed as well as the nice entertainment set with TV and DVD player.
Sprinter Luxury Mercedes Camper
For a luxurious home on wheels, this sophisticated camper built on a Mercedes Benz Long Wheel Base model does not disappoint. It is designed for couples wanting extra space and extra comforts. Inside, you have a kitchen, convertible rear lounge, toilet, and shower. Plus, there are plenty of storage spaces for all your stuff.
Hitop Campervan
Another campervan model is this Hi-top unit that is the perfect size for 2 to 3 people. The rear area is both the living room and the bedroom. You simply adjust the table and put on the linens and you'll have a comfy double bed. Adding comfort to your trip is the inclusion of air-con, radio, and CD player. Also, there's a kitchen with all sorts of amenities you need such as sink, gas stove, fridge, and cooking utensils.
4WD
4WD Toyota Landcruiser V8
Get ready for an exciting trip with this Toyota Landcruiser V8. Intended for small groups, experience sleeping in a tent instead of an interior bed. Other camping gears are also included in your rental. So, if you're looking for an off-road adventure, then this 4WD model is a great option for up to 5 people.
4WD Bush Camper
If you want the comfort of both worlds, you gotta love this fully-equipped 4WD Bush Camper. Instead of sleeping in a tent, you have the option to sleep comfortably inside. The unit comes with one double bed and a single bed. Aside from that, the interior has a kitchen so you miss preparing your meals.
Hilux 4×4 Four Wheel Drive Camper
The last 4WD option is this tough yet compact unit for 3 persons. The Hilux 4×4 Four Wheel Drive Camper offers a very spacious rear cabin that comes with a nice kitchen space and dining area. The permanent double bed is positioned at the pop-top roof so there's no need to prepare your beds every night. Also, you get a side awning for you to dine and relax outside.
Insurance
The standard liability for the campervans and 4WD is $6000 (per claim). This is also the amount of the bond collected at the time rental contract via credit card. But you can reduce such by availing of their reduction option. For $55 per day, you will limit the liability to $3000 (maximum $2750). And for $75 per day, the liability will be reduced to $500 (maximum $3750). Both liability reduction options come with a credit card surcharge fee of 2%.
Reputation
Even with a tight network of agents from all over the world, Camperworld's reputation isn't all praises. They have mixed reviews from their diverse range of vehicles. Still, you'll love their extensive rental options that cater to different budgets and group sizes. Plus, they offer discounts for long term hires.
Summary
Camperworld is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your holiday in Western Australia. The company is located just minutes from Perth airport.
