Editors Review

A family business situated in Western Canada, Sunshine RV focuses on providing luxury RV trip in an affordable manner.

About Sunshine RV

Sunshine RV is a very small rental company that offers a very limited fleet of motorhomes and travel trailers. Actually, they provide only one type of vehicle for each rental. Despite the visible restriction (not to mention, the only one depot), the company specializes in luxury RVs at competitive prices. Aside from that, they give custom packages, depending on the renter's travel destination, dates, number of guests, mileage, and the like.

Fleet

There isn't so much fuss about the fleet because they only have one motorhome and one travel trailer for rent (though multiple units for each model). The motorhome, in particular, is a Class A RV that is fully-equipped with the essentials and some extras. Even if this is a family-run entity, the company follows most of the large rental companies' concept of not allowing pets inside the RV, as well as the standard rule of no smoking. Expect for a lot of fees before you get a hold of your RV such as reservation fee, rental fee, and cleaning fee. However, all of these fees are relatively competitive to give you a cheaper holiday on wheels. And, to make it more attractive, the rental rate already includes 100 km per day.

Vehicles

Coachmen Mirada

As a Class A motorhome, this Coachmen Mirada provides splendid views of the road, as well as comfy driving sessions. At 30 ft, the length is still suitable for most camping grounds, and the higher seating allows you not to cramp up while driving for long hours. The vehicle can sleep up to 6 and supplies you with useful amenities like queen-sized bed, sofa, swivel chair, dinette with overhead cabinets, refrigerator, microwave with sink, toilet & shower, along with thoughtful extras such as an outdoor speaker, awning, anchor points for baby seat, and an inflatable boat.

Insurance

Sunshine RV requires a $1, 500 security deposit, which will be deposited back upon return of rented vehicle in the same condition. As for the insurance, the company recommends each renter to have his own insurance coverage, for both personal and public liability during the course of rental.

Reputation

This relatively small family business isn't that popular, but still offers motorhome and travel trailer rentals in Western Canada. The very restricted fleet and only one depot could be some of the underlying factors for the slow growth of the company's reputation. On the bright side, the short supply of rental vehicles allows them to thoroughly maintain and service their fleet.

Summary

There are several rental options in Western Canada and Sunshine RV is one of the smaller and unpopular companies often neglected by prospect renters. Offering only one type of unit for motorhomes and travel trailers (despite being luxury models), it is advisable to give yourself other options that will suit well with your preferences. The company, as a whole, is good, but there are seriously heaps of alternatives in the market.
