Editors Review

Aimed at the luxury market, Lux-Liner is not just a standard rental company but rather a dedicated family-business and a customer-based entity that offers high-end RVs to their exclusive members.

About Lux-Liner

Renting a luxury RV from Lux-Liner may not be like the usual renting process because you need to be member first to enjoy all the perks and privileges of their rentals such as exclusive pricing, one year free camping at certain camp sites, high-end facilities, VIP delivery services, and so much more. The membership requirement may be a downer, especially if you'll be shelling at least $250 for the annual membership, but if you'll get down to the computation, you'll discover that the yearly fee gives greater value compared to renting out with a whopping daily cost. Plus, they bring the vehicle to your home and pick it up once you're done, for free! However, it still does not dismiss the fact the Lux-Liner can be pretty intimidating for budget travellers.

Fleet

To compensate the pricey setback, you get what you pay for or even more. The Lux-Liner fleet is composed of high-end units, ranging from 2013 to 2017 models with Mercedes or Ford chassis. Each unit acts like a moving luxury condo loaded with lavish facilities and comfy supplies. Hence, less time in packing and more time in enjoying the open roads. Members need to spend extra cash for extras like bikes, inflatable kayak, portable generator, fishing gear, and child seat.

Vehicle

Itasca Navion

The Itasca Navion comes in two models: the 24J and 24V. Both have almost the same features as well as dimension, but the 24 J is half inch longer with bigger exterior storage. The 24J features 5 seat belts, a large slide-out, a sink in the main bathroom, night shades in slide type with magnet, three full beds,, and a child seat tether anchor. The 24 V, on the other hand, may be smaller but still provides unique characteristics like options for beds ( king/ 1 twin/ 1 full), all slide night shade, and 2 person vinyl dinette.

Thor Citation Sprinter

As the smallest motorhome on offer, the Thor Citation Sprinter makes sure that it's still a charm to the renters. Hence, it is equipped with 13,500 BTU air conditioner, together with 3600 watt LP gas generator and 1,100w inverter. It also comes with a huge slide-out and a powered awning with LED. Aside from the two interior TVs, there's one outside but no exterior speakers.

Fleetwood Tioga

The 26'3'' Fleetwood Tioga is a 2016 RV with 5.4L gas engine and Ford chassis. This is the only model featuring a cloth perm permanent chairs instead of vinyl swivels and a snap on night shade instead of the usual power then drape, Velcro or slide type. It has expanded exterior storage for your sport equipment. This one is suitable if you are travelling with your kids because the unit provides 2 child seat tether anchor points.

Fleetwood Storm

Another from the Fleetwood series is the 2016 Fleetwood Storm with 28’ 7" length and 12’ 4” height. This model has the biggest exterior storage at 257 cu. ft., which means you can stack up your sport essentials or even your excess stuff in it. With 2 queen and 1 full bed, it can smoothly pamper up to 6 people inside. Unlike the other Fleetwood model, this one has 2 TVs inside and 1 outside, plus a full package Sirius XM radio.

Holiday Rambler Admiral

This Class A RV takes up more space while on the road because of its big dimensions. This is the largest unit on fleet at 31' long with 6’ 11” internal height. Not only that, it furnishes two large slide-outs, making it very cozy and spacious inside the cabin. Because of its huge size, it becomes an RV with 8-person sleeping capacity. There are 2 queen beds (one at the rear and the other at the cab-over), 2 full (from the dinette and sofa in the living room) and 2 bunks.

Monaco Trek

The Monaco Trek is also a huge motorhome but with uncommon features of a separate toilet from the full bathroom located before the private rear bedroom. This is definitely a plus point for picky travellers wanting extra privacy. The entertainment system is not just limited inside but also extends outside because there's a one exterior TV provided, together with the exterior speakers. There are 5 fitted seat belts but the sleeping areas are only good for up to three (one queen rear and one full at the dinette). Aside from the two front swivel seats, there's a free standing recliner near the entry step.

Jayco Melbourne

The 2017 Jayco Melbourne is the most recent pick but still great for up to 5 people. The slide-out on one lane expands the convertible U-shaped dinette and rear queen bed. Because of its limited space, the layout is practically designed, starting with a flip-up counter top at the kitchen and the bunk at the cab-over. There's ladder provided to climb to the bunk beds.

Insurance

The company recommends you to get an insurance binder from your insurance company. However, you can also get a coverage from their third party provider, MBA Choice Insurance.

Reputation

For previous customers who have experienced the Lux-Liner vehicles, they pointed out the impressive customer service. Though you'll rarely be needing roadside assistance because of the newer vehicles on fleet, few hiccups along the way may still persist. In addition, the company makes sure to go the extra mile to fix the issue, which is definitely a charm to every traveller out there. You get exclusive perks and privileges from the company, but first you need to be a member. Hence,  you must advance money for their annual membership.

Summary

The good thing about being a member of Lux-Liner is you can get competitive rates (though not really cheap!) Still, you will enjoy a selection of mostly brand new luxury models with beautifully designed layout and posh facilities.
