Editors Review

If you want a nice and comfy alternative to the enormous, gas-guzzling RVs, Road Trip Oregon offers an impressive selection of campervans for all sorts of travellers, from couples to families up to 4 (plus, a good dog!).

About Road Trip Oregon

Road Trip Oregon is the upshot of two adventurers wanting to showcase the beauty and convenience of a campervan to the Northwest. Unlike other campervan companies in Oregon, this one has its own on-site repair shop, which means they can assist you all throughout your rental in the event of a vehicle breakdown. Pick-up and drop-offs are done at their depot, which is located right within the city. They also allow pick-up and drop-off in a different area with an extra fee. Their campervans can travel outside Portland and even up to Canada, though they have restrictions when it comes to crossing into Mexico and attending Burning Man. Each rental comes with 125 miles per day.

Fleet

You've got plenty of campervan choices with Road Trip Oregon. They have two main options: VW campervans that use premium unleaded and Sprinter campervans that use diesel fuel. These units are suitable for couples, small families, and groups of friends. They even have a few models that are pet-friendly. Also, if you're travelling with kids, their Eurovans are geared with shoulder and lap safety belts. You can just rent a child seat or booster seat from them.

Vehicles

Eurovan Weekender

The Eurovan Weekender is an amazing family camper that perfectly sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids. This automatic campervan is very spacious because of the pop-top that adds extra interior height and an exterior kitchen that gives more room inside. The outdoor kitchen area is complete with kitchenware for you to easily cook your meals and enjoy alfresco dining. Come nighttime, you simply just prepare the queen size bed from the rear bench seat and the canvas tent pop-top on top of it. Because of its features, this van is perfect for the warm weather and long-distance trips.

Eurovan Camper

Eurovan Campers is another option for 2 adults and 2 kids. It has the same features as the Eurovan Weekender, including the convertible rear bed and pop-top roof bed. The main difference between the two, except for the age, is the indoor kitchen. Hence, this one is not that roomier compared to the previous model. Still, it is suitable for a family of four who wants to prepare their meals without going outside. When it's time to dine, you simply just slide the dining table and turn the swivel front seats to the back.

Ford Transit Camper

For a group of 4 friends looking for a spacious campervan, you have the Ford Transit Camper. Two adults can sleep in the queen bed below while the remaining two can relax in the pop-top above. This camper has a rear kitchen with a slide-out cabinet, ample food storage, block counter, and other cooking essentials. The extendable table, along with the front swivel chairs, makes it easy to dine inside the van.

Deluxe Sprinter van

Seats 6 but sleeps 2, the Deluxe Sprinter van lets you travel in comfort and style. This powerful and elegant Mercedes Sprinter model is a perfect choice for couples or even a starting family. Just rent out an additional tent to accommodate everyone. Only two people can sleep in the rear queen bed. The lounge area features a removable table and lots of overhead cabinets. And with the extra interior space, this automatic van now comes with a bathroom.

Revel 4×4 Sprinter Camper

This 4x4 Mercedes-Benz model is intended for renters with a heart for adventure. Its 4WD system makes it suitable for all driving conditions. The unit highlights some unique features, including a power lift bed over the gear garage that sleeps two comfortably and a cross-coach sleeping space for an extra guest. Also, there is an all-in-one gear closet and a wet bath for added convenience. And before we forget, the flip-up counter extension maximizes the space inside the unit.

Columbia Sprinter Camper

Travelling with a family of 4? The Columbia Sprinter Camper is a stylish camper that provides two sleeping options―a large rear bench that alters into a queen bed and bunk-style bed across the captain chairs. Inside the unit are a full kitchen, a bathroom with shower and toilet, and two movable pedestal tables. One unique feature of this campervan is the two forward-facing seats at the back of the front seats.

Willamette Sprinter Camper

Willamette is a 2 berth Mercedes-Benz model that provides all comforts of home. This automatic unit has its own full kitchen with an induction cooktop, block countertop, sink, refrigerator, and storage spaces. The bathroom, on the other hand, has a shower and a cassette-style toilet. And of course, the large living room deserves a mention as it easily transforms into a spacious queen bed with cotton sheets and comforter.

Land Rover with Rooftop Tent

The Land Rover Camper is another great option for outdoor enthusiasts. This self-contained campervan provides a rooftop tent that sleeps up to 3 persons (2 adults or 1 adult and 2 kids). The weather-proof rooftop tent with skylight allows you to doze off comfortably. And for you to prep your meals smoothly, this model offers a well-stocked outdoor kitchen with pans, pots, and other cutlery needs. So, hit the off the beaten track with this AWD vehicle with a hint of luxury.

Insurance

The insurance coverage depends on the rented unit. For Eurovans and Landrovers, these models come with secondary insurance included in the rental. For Sprinter and Ford Transit, they require the purchase of insurance coverage. There is a $2, 500 insurance deductible, with $45, 000 maximum vehicle protection and supplemental liability coverage of 25, 000 for bodily injury and $50, 000 per accident. However, it's highly recommended that you provide first your personal insurance coverage, hence their insurance will only be secondary. It picks what your personal insurance does not include. For extra security, you can avail of the additional collision coverage at $18 per day that reduces the insurance deductible to $500. Take note that windshield and tire damage is not part of the coverage.

Reputation

Road Trip Oregon is one of the most recommended campervan rentals in Oregon. Their fleet of campervans provides plenty of options for groups of 2 to 4 people. They have family vehicles, classic campers, stylish units, and rugged vans. Plus, they have few models that accommodate dogs! The staff behind this top-rated company is very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. And the prices are fair enough. Unfortunately, their rental range isn't for big groups.

Summary

For couples and groups of 4, Road Trip Oregon has definitely something for you. Choose from one of their diverse campervans and have a comfortable and memorable holiday on the road.
