Editors Review

For over a decade, RV Rentals San Diego stacks their late yet luxurious motorhomes in their one and only depot located in San Marcos.

What RV Rentals San Diego Tells Us

Claiming to be the only top-rated BBB A+ Accredited RV rental company in San Diego and Authorized Campsite Delivery Concessionaire for California Parks, RV Rentals San Diego has been in the rental industry for quite a while now, providing luxury models of Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes. These motorhomes are family-friendly, which normally include bunk beds for your kids.

Most of their units are old models, so do not expect for a perfectly smooth road trip with no petty mechanical breakdowns. It is much better for a company to disclose the model year of each rental than being extremely disappointed while on the road because of the so good-to-be-true advertisement. Even if these are not brand new, these are well-maintained and are tailored with lots of exciting perks like 100 mileage per night, 4-hour generator usage per night and pet deposit (upon approval)— all for free!

Fleet

Unlike other rental companies, RV Rentals San Diego provides you with the age and true condition of your rented vehicle. And, they have lots to offer, ranging from the luxury Class A to family Class C, and even compact Class B. Their RVs can normally sleep 6 to 8, and some up to 10 people. They have several options for the Class A and Class C categories, so whether you're looking for a vehicle with better views or easier parking, there's something for you to choose from.

Class A

Fleetwood Excursion

The first choice for renters who need luxury road trip at its finest, the 33 ft. Fleetwoord Excursion with slide-out comfortably sleeps up to 6 and exudes elegance in every corner― sophisticated interiors, refined lazy boy recliners, Corian countertops, spacious L-shaped dining table, electric drop-down double bed and the list continues. Not just that, this deluxe RV can conquer the tough roads with its powerful CAT diesel engine and Freightliner chassis.

Fleetwood Storm

Another Fleetwood unit on the fleet is this 34' ft. Storm with two slide-outs and bunk beds. This isn't the biggest vehicle on offer, but it can cater up to 10 people and is a brand new 2017 model. Find your own sleeping place― from the queen-sized island bed to the twin dinette bed that extends to the queen sofa bed or in the bunk beds. The RV is equipped with 2 large flat screen TVs with 4 DVD players to entertain your kids while on the road. And if you want the Fleetwood Storm so bad but thinks that 34' ft. is pretty big, don't worry because they have the same unit with same features and frills at 32' ft. and sleeps up to 8.

Fleetwood Bounder

The Fleetwood Bounder has three different options― 33' ft. with slides, 34' ft. with slides and 34' ft with bunks. Whatever you choose, you will still be greeted by a beautiful Class A gas luxury RV. All these units are fitted out with almost the same facilities, from fully-furnished living/ dining to palatial sleeping arrangements. Some RVs just differ in certain features like TVs, fuel/ propane tank, and fresh water tank capacity.

Forest River Georgetown

A motorhome with bunk beds and two slide-outs, the 35' ft. Georgetown is the largest among all Class A vehicles. This 8-berth model is a nice 'home on wheels', with its obvious comfort features such as roomy living/ dining quarters, a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious shower with toilet and cozy sleeping places. Even if its a 2014 model, the RV provides effortless driving with the help of its reliable 362 HP Triton V-10 engine and smooth automatic transmission, as well as leatherette cockpit captain's seats, rear-view and side-view color camera and more!

Thor Ace

To complete the Class A vehicles, there's the 2014 Thor Ace with dual slide-outs. At 30' ft, the unit is great for large families as it comes with a lot of sleeping areas and complete entertainment system. The vehicle leaves lots of space because of its nicely tailored interiors and delightful amenities.

Class C

Jayco Seneca

A scaled-down version with complete amenities of a larger motorhome, the Jayco Seneca is great for a family getaway. This motorhome comfortably sleeps 6 people and still leaves heaps of space because of its slide-out feature that extends the living room. There are three, large TVs for your entertainment needs— in the living room, bedroom and bunk beds.

Jayco Redhawk

The Jayco Redhawk is a 29 ft. motorhome that comes with two slides— in the dining/ living area and master bedroom. Just like the other Jayco model on the fleet, this RV is great for families as it provides comfort and style in one setting. The walk-in shower with a large bath, as well as the fully-equipped kitchen, makes this class C option a popular pick among the renters.

Itasca Spirit

A recent addition, the 2014 Itasca Spirit brings all the comforts of home into your vehicle— two slide-outs for a more spacious living quarters, two bunk beds for your kids, and full-sized kitchen for a more convenient holiday on the road. Aside from the bunk beds, there are three double beds— in the dinette, sofa and cab-over beds and one queen-sized island bed. The ample sleeping space is perfect for every member of the family.

Fleetwood Ranger

Looking for a motorhome with some fancy features like electric awning and slide-outs? Introducing the Fleetwood's Tioga Ranger— a 31 ft. motorhome that caters up to 6, which means more space inside! The vehicle's patio awning allows you to daze under the summer heat or cold night. So, if you want extreme comfort during your holiday, might as well consider renting this model out.

Coachman Freelander

This Class C motorhome can sleep a lot— 8 people actually. The queen-sized bed is nicely fitted at the center rear, while other sleeping places include the sofa bed, convertible dinette at the sides and the cab-over bunkbeds. This model is the smallest among other vehicles in the same category. At 30 ft., the RV is a fantastic option for renters not wanting to drive a super elongated vehicle yet need all the comforts of a luxury motorhome.

Class B

Winnebago Era

The one and only option for the class B category, this fancy Winnebago Era is the most recent addition to the RV Rentals San Diego fleet. It is a compact motorhome featuring all the conveniences a luxury RV. A small-scale and filled RV with almost everything you need― from the refrigerator to shower with toilet, this vehicle is commendable for couples in need of a not-so-pricey yet fulfilling holiday on wheels.

Insurance

As to the insurance, each renter is required to have an insurance coverage from their own auto insurance company. Normally, these insurance binders are free of charge, and RV Rentals San Diego can provide you with a list of insurance companies to choose from. Before or upon pick-up, renter must also pay the security deposit amounting to $1, 500 in the form of credit card authorization or cash.

Reputation

Being one of the few RV rentals in the North County, RV Rentals San Diego has already created a nice impact in the area. These are backed up by few yet positive feedback from previous customers. Even if the company has only one depot, pick-up and drop-off are still easy because they specialize in a family road trip, which means more personalized touches all throughout your holiday. All RVs on fleet are privately-owned and are personally hand-picked by the owners themselves. These are well-maintained to their family holiday standards.

Summary

RV Rentals San Diego's extensive fleet gives them an edge among other competitors in the market. However, the age of vehicles must be considered firsthand as these are mostly older units aimed at mid-range to the luxury market. And even if they have been in the rental industry for quite a while now, they only have one depot.
