Star RV offers a premium motorhome rental that generally comes with a higher price. They custom design their fleet and guarantee that each of their vehicles is less than one year old. They have several locations across the USA and even in New Zealand and Australia.
About Star RV
Star RV has 7 locations across the USA— Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Denver, New York, Orlando and Seattle. And just like any other Star RV branches, those in USA also feature modern and reliable RVs on fleet. Known for their luxury models, the company guarantees that all vehicles are up-to-date, and are less than 1 year old. Hence, dependability is not a problem, as well as in experiencing an opulent self-drive holiday with the bright city lights of Las Vegas or with the towering structures of Los Angeles.
Fleet
And since the company wants to give the best for each motorhome hire, Star RV limits their fleet into only five rental options with unique names—Taurus, Tucana, Cygnus, Perseus, and Saturn. Unlike most RVs in the USA, these vehicles can cater up to 4 adults and 2 children, but are all under 12 months old. So renting a Star RV could assure you of a close-to-brand-new unit. All units on fleet are automatic transmission with the Winnebago Class C motorhomes build upon a Ford model, while the only Class B with a Dodge Ram.
Vehicles
Taurus RV 22-25ft
The 25' Tucana is the newest addition to Star RV range with a sleeping capacity for up 4 adults and 1 child. A smaller RV, this motorhome presents a private bathroom beside the rear bed, a snug dinette that easily transforms into a large double bed, an internal walk-through access for a convenient entry from the driver seat to the living room and a large awning for fresh air dining.
Tucana RV 25ft
Good for 2 adults and 3 children, the Tucana RV is more ideal for those looking for 'extra comfort' as it features a larger living room and additional storage. This RV is the largest 5 berth motorhome with huge double beds at the rear and cab-over, and one single bed positioned at the dinette. The living room slide-out effortlessly expands the dinette to give more space while eating or when you sleep. The full kitchen at the opposite side is equipped with a sink, 3 burner gas stove/ oven, microwave and refrigerator.
Cygnus RV 28- 31 ft
Take advantage of a motorhome that can accommodate 4 adults and 1 child. The Cygnus RV is suitable for group of friends or families with grown children because it is generously designed with bigger sleeping area at the rear, frontal living area and cab-over. Since you will be travelling with more adults on-board, the water tanks are also upgraded and you also have options to dine inside or outside with the help of the huge dinette and large outdoor awning.
Perseus RV 30-33ft
Perseus is tagged as the hero of the entire Star RV rental fleet because of its large features, starting with the large kitchen to the large living room and large rear bedroom. Well, it's true that 'bigger is better' but you need to be consider its convenience, especially with parking. At 30' to 33', this grand motorhome may not fit in standard parking spaces. But even with its bigger dimensions, the RV is the way to cruise the open roads in comfort and style.
Saturn RV
The only Class B and the only 2 to 3 berth motorhome, the Saturn is downright sleek and stylish unit you wouldn't want to miss. Even with its compact size, you will be greeted inside with beautiful and very useful facilities like full kitchen, large fridge, private shower & toilet, and rear lounge/ double bed. If you're wondering where will the extra passenger sleep at night considering this isn't as large as a Class A or as versatile as a Class C with cab-over, well, this Class B unit takes pride of its multifaceted front seat that transforms into a snug single bed. And instead of an automatic awning, you are provided with a manual one.
Insurance
Included in the nightly rental is the public liability insurance, which is only up to the statutory limit of a particular state. The standard liability amounts to $1,500, by which a bond will be required during your rental agreement through a credit card. Take note that there is non-refundable administration fee of $30. If you want a more smooth road trip with less worries, then you can add the Supplemental Liability Insurance at $14.00/ night to increase the liability limit up to $1 million. Also, there is a Collision Damage Waiver, which is included in Star Pack at $131.25/ night. The Star Pack includes the CDW with zero responsibility, one way rental fee, unlimited miles, admin fees and taxes, as well as unlimited windscreen and tyre cover.
Reputation
The good reputation of Star RV is not just limited in the USA but also with their branches in Australia and New Zealand. Renting a luxury unit from them can give you a one of a kind fancy stay on wheels, with extra convenience because of their seven branches all over the country. But of course, these latest models, which are less than a year old, could burn a hole in your pocket as it only caters the high-end to luxury market. The Star RV range has only five RV types and are not suitable for bigger groups more than 6.
Summary
Star RV focuses on high-end travellers and not budget backpackers. And if you can afford their fleet of almost-brand new models, then why not?
