Five tiers, one fleet, and a top-tier package that still doesn't cover everything. Here's exactly what each level of Let's Go Motorhomes insurance buys you.

The Five Tiers, Side By Side

Let's Go Motorhomes runs the most granular insurance structure of any major Australian operator — five levels instead of the usual three. Here's what each one actually does to your liability and bond.

Bronze Package (included, no extra cost)

Maximum liability: $5,000. This is what you're exposed to by default the moment you drive off the lot. No windscreen, tyre, overhead, underbody, awning or window cover of any kind.

Silver Package (~$39/day)

Liability drops to $2,500. Windscreen, tyres, overhead, underbody and awning damage are all still excluded — Silver only reduces the dollar amount you're on the hook for, it doesn't change what kinds of damage are covered.

Gold Package (~$49/day)

Liability drops further to $1,250, sitting between Silver and Platinum for travellers who want meaningfully lower exposure without paying for the top tiers.

Platinum Package (~$68–77/day)

Liability reduced to $750. This is the first tier that includes anything beyond a lower dollar cap — one tyre replacement is included, and single vehicle rollover is covered. Overhead and underbody damage is still NOT covered.

Platinum Plus Package (~$130/day, not available on 7–9 day rentals)

The zero-excess, no-deposit tier. Liability drops to $350, with one tyre replacement and rollover cover included. Windscreen cover can be added for an extra $25/day on top. Overhead and underbody damage is still excluded even here, and awning damage from user negligence remains your responsibility.

The Catch Worth Sitting With

Here's the detail that catches people out: you can pay the full daily rate for Platinum Plus — the best insurance Let's Go offers — and if you clip a low tree branch and crack the overhead fibreglass, which is genuinely one of the most common campervan incidents in Australian caravan parks and campgrounds, you are still personally liable for the full repair cost. No tier removes that exposure.

Other exclusions that apply regardless of tier: immersion in water, getting bogged through driver error, wrong fuel, awning damage from negligence (up to $3,000), the Royale's slide-out bed if damaged by incorrect operation ($2,500), and blinds in the 6-berth Royale.

How To Pick The Right Tier

If you're a confident, experienced driver on a short trip and comfortable carrying the risk, Bronze or Silver keeps daily cost down. If you're less experienced, driving an unfamiliar vehicle for the first time, or simply want to walk away from the counter without thinking about it again, Platinum or Platinum Plus buys real peace of mind on the two most common minor incidents — tyres and rollover.

What none of the five tiers solve is overhead and underbody damage. If that's your main worry — and for anyone camping under trees, it probably should be — a third-party policy like RentalCover is worth pricing alongside Let's Go's own packages, since third-party cover often includes exactly the damage categories the in-house tiers leave out.

Check your travel credit card too. Many card policies already include a form of rental vehicle excess cover, which can make a lower Let's Go tier sufficient on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many insurance tiers does Let's Go Motorhomes offer?

Five: Bronze (included), Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus — more tiers than most Australian operators, who typically offer two or three.

What's the cheapest way to reduce my Let's Go Motorhomes liability?

Silver Package brings liability down from $5,000 to $2,500 for around $39/day, the smallest step up from the included Bronze tier.

Does any Let's Go Motorhomes insurance tier cover overhead damage?

No. Overhead and underbody damage is excluded at every tier, including Platinum Plus — the most expensive option in the range.

Is Platinum Plus available on every rental length?

No — it's not available on rentals of 7 to 9 days specifically. Check availability for your exact trip length at booking.
