Airlie Beach is a tourist beach town in far north Queensland, the tropical north eastern state of Australia. It is popular because of close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and the city thrives on the tourists who come year round to get a chance to do boat charters either for a day or a few days out to the majestic and beautiful reef. Being a town that is full of free-and-easy holiday makers, the night life is also quite exciting. For families that are hiring a motorhome there are also a number of fantastically resourced caravan parks to stay in that can keep the kids busy all day without even having to leave the grounds.
But if adventure sports is your thing then Airlie can certainly provide with snorkelling, scuba, sky diving, beach, town lagoon, and boating trips to the reef.
Most campervan renters pass through Airlie Beach on their way too or from Cairns, but for those that wish to start or end here, there are a few campervan hire companies that have set up a branch. There is also an airport near by at Proserpine.
